Thesis Title : Correlation between Knowledge and Health Behavior with GDS Levels in Type 2 DM Patients in the Inpatient Room of Hospital X Jakarta.

Background: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by elevated blood glucose or blood sugar levels that over time cause serious damage to the heart, blood vessels, eyes, kidneys, and nerves. Diabetes mellitus causes 2 million deaths including chronic kidney disease due to diabetes WHO (2023).
Objective: to determine the correlation between knowledge and health behavior and blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients in the inpatient room of Hospital X Jakarta.
Research Method: This study uses a type of quantitative research with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling, which was 38 respondents. The statistical test uses Spearmen Rank, data collection is carried out in June-July 2024.
Research Results: Based on the results of this study, it was found that there was a correlation between knowledge and GDS levels during type 2 DM patients with p-value= 0.003 (<α 0.05) and there was no correlation between health behavior and GDS levels of type 2 DM patients with p-value= 0.102 (<α 0.05).
Conclusion: There was a correlation between knowledge and GDS levels of type 2 DM patients in the inpatient room of Hospital X Jakarta and there was no correlation between health behavior and GDS levels of type 2 DM patients in the inpatient room of Hospital X Jakarta.
